easyHotel
Ipswich
easyHotel is an international hotel that owns, develops, operates and franchises hotels under the ‘super budget’ brand. Our client was rolling out refurbishments of existing and new hotels across the UK and entrusted us to be a part of the programme, completing three exceptional refurbishments.
After obtaining the commercial building, our skilled team was appointed to begin the strip out, converting the facility into an 89-bedroom hotel under a fast and challenging programme.

The Project
Following the strip out, the works included internal demolitions and alterations, works to existing structural steelwork, repairs to the external façade, installation of roof lights/ glazing, plus mechanical and electrical installation.
Maintaining the vibrant culture of the brand through the fit out was important to the client, driving our team to incorporate the highest quality into every joinery item and finish.
Thorough Investigations
Hydrocarbon soil investigations were carried out and a detailed design was implemented to reduce and manage the risks during construction phases. We also carried out a full R&D survey to identify asbestos before works were carried out and safely removed.
Logistical Challenges
Employing a traffic marshall and complying with a logistics and traffic management plan ensured a smooth programme of works.
Specialist Acoustics
Due to the nature of the hotel, there were extensive acoustic requirements to meet. To deliver the best quality possible we employed a trusted specialist acoustic consultant.
