Salters’ Hall Named Finalist at Architecture Today Awards 2025

Salters’ Hall Named Finalist at Architecture Today Awards 2025

We’re delighted to announce that Salters’ Hall has been shortlisted for the Architecture Today Awards 2025 in the Mixed Use category – a recognition of the project’s exceptional design, sensitive execution, and adaptive reuse of a London landmark.

Located in the heart of the City of London, Salters’ Hall began life as a 1970s Brutalist masterpiece, originally designed by Sir Basil Spence. Working in collaboration with de Metz Forbes Knight Architects and the Salters’ Company, 8build delivered the complex retrofit of this historically significant structure, transforming it into a dynamic mixed-use development that respects the past while delivering for the present.

The scheme included the restoration of key Brutalist elements alongside the insertion of new contemporary workspaces, public realm enhancements, and carefully detailed landscape interventions. The result is a building that balances architectural integrity with functional adaptability – and one that now stands as a model for sustainable reuse in London.
This recognition is a testament to the strong collaboration between client, design team, and construction delivery and we couldn’t be prouder of what was achieved together.

You can view the official awards listing here.

Congratulations to everyone involved – and best of luck to all the other finalists!
